So this is what I have today. Itunes shared library. To do this, open iTunes click “File - Home Sharing - Turn on Home Sharing.” This is going to result in a login screen, which will ask you for your Apple ID and password. Give it a little time and once finished, you’ll get the following message. Your iTunes library may be stored on a PC or Mac at home, or it may be housed on a network drive. Either way, you want to be able to access it from other devices, like an iPhone or iPad. 'Sharing the library' is something of a misnomer when it comes to manually keeping one iTunes Media folder synchronised between two different machines & two different iTunes instances. You can do it, but each copy of iTunes will want to be 'in charge' & they will not auto-synchronise at all.
